How long have you been with Samantha Ogilvie?
A little over a year.

What is your role at SO?
I am a full-time stylist in the Samantha Ogilvie boutique.

Why do you love what you do?
It is fun and challenging! Every day is different because every client has a different style and we are lucky to work with such a wide range of beautiful labels.

What brought you to Samantha Ogilvie?
I was halfway through studying commerce at uni and was working casually in retail when I decided that it was time to pursue working full time in fashion – this led me to joining the team at Samantha Ogilvie.

What has been your proudest moment at Samantha Ogilvie?
On a personal note, my confidence has grown so much since working at Samantha Ogilvie. It has been amazing to learn from other team members such as Melaan who have so much experience in styling.

What do you think are this season’s essential items or trends?
Printed silk sets. They are so effortless and comfortable, but you still look put together and chic. Plus, you can keep it casual by styling with sneakers or sandals or really dress the look up with a heel. La Prestic Ouiston are always my go-to for this look as well as Italian label, F.R.S For Restless Sleepers.

What is something you can never get enough of?
I can’t get enough of jeans! I hardly wore jeans before I started working at Samantha Ogilvie because I didn’t know which styles would suit me. Then I discovered the amazing range of denim cuts on offer from SLVRLAKE and FRAME and found styles that I absolutely love and that fit perfectly.

What is the hardest-working piece in your own wardrobe and how are you styling it?
My SLVRLAKE Grace Twisted Seam Jeans styled with a cotton shirt from Sea and a Loeffler Randall slide sandal.

What item in your own wardrobe is most special to you, and why?
A sapphire and diamond ring handed down to me from my great-grandmother.

What’s inspiring you at the moment?
I’m inspired by the concept of a capsule wardrobe. I think it is great to have a strong base wardrobe that you can build around. Personally, I love to start with block colour pieces and denim and then add in printed pieces that I can mix and match with. As we come into the summer months, I am particularly drawn to Sea prints for their versatility.

What are your favourite brands at SO?
SLVRLAKE for denim and Lug von Siga as it is so pretty and feminine. I also love Miguelina and of course La Prestic Ouiston. I just adore their beautiful silk prints.

Who are your style influences?
Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Hailey Beiber because they have a simple, classic style. They follow trends but keep it elegant and timeless.

What do you love to do in your me-time?
I love to get some exercise - doing reformer Pilates or going for a long walk to get a coffee while listening to a podcast. I also really enjoy cooking and teaching myself new recipes.

Favourite Instagram accounts?
@vitasidorkina
Vita is model living in Miami. Her Instagram is a lot of fashion and outfits and then her YouTube channel features more of her day-to-day life. I love her style.

@lydiamillen
I also really enjoy content from Lydia Millen. She lives in the English countryside and just has this very classically British style that I really like.

Favourite travel destination?
France. My grandparents are English and lived there for about 10 years after they retired. My parents took my brothers and I over every three years or so to stay in their home in the country. I loved going there can’t wait to visit again as an adult.

Which destinations are on your travel wishlist?
I am going to Hawaii and Canada in January. I am skiing in Canada which I have never done before so I am excited to do that.
I would also love to go to Europe in Summer soon as well.

Favourite Brisbane places to eat and drink, and what do your order?
Same Same and Los Bar. I love the food at Same Same and Los Bar has really great, unique cocktails. My favourite is their green Magarita!

I also can’t go past a good steak, so I love going to the Breakky Creek or the Norman Hotel.

Favourite place to spend a day off?
If I can get away for a couple of days I will head straight for the beach.
If I am staying local, I love going to a great bar around James Street with my girlfriends for an afternoon cocktail and a few snacks.

The best thing about working in the James Street precinct?
The central location and being surrounded by so many beautiful restaurants and stores. It is just such an amazing area to work in.

The best thing about living in Brisbane?
Our weather.

A must-do for those visiting Brisbane?
A visit to James Street - the restaurants and stores are world-class. Also, doing a riverside walk at Newstead or New Farm Park.
